A New Carrier Question

Hey I have an idea just tell me what you all think. If I am currently with verizon hence the post on the verizon website. But like many I get hit with a pretty good size of overages every month. Now, tell me what you all think about this.

If I had a carrier that offered many plans, for the sake of this example 4. Now my plan would include something like:

monthly anytime Night/wk Mobile to
cost Minutes Minutes Moobile
39.99 400 Unlim Unlim
59.99 800 Unlim Unlim
79.99 1200 Unlim Unlim
99.99 1900 Unlim Unlim

Now here is the catch unlike other carriers that charge you overages, this plan "flex" to the closest plan. So everyone starts at the 39.99 unless their wishes to start higher. As they use their mins, when they went over they ...

This is like Sprint's Fair and Flexible but worse.

What happens if I used 410 minutes? I have to pay $59.99? Paying $20 for 10 minutes of overage seems a bit steep.

What if you were able to keep track of your use at pretty much any time and call in to change it whenever you felt like? It would require you to be a responsible person though.

Well if you go over 10 extra mins regardless you will be paying more. Now yes you would be bumped up to the next plan in which you would have 390 mins left on that plan. When you approched your limit on your plan a text would be sent to you notifing you.

Im not arguing its for the sake of conversation. Im just tired of the phone companies hittin me up for my overages. I pay way 2 much for the plan i have. I like objective criticism. How about you how do you feel about it.

I think you could do a couple things...

1.) If you have Verizon then get your friends on Verizon and you can talk for free.

2.) Monitor your minutes better or cut back on your usage.

3.) Up your rate plan, most plans double the minutes at the next level for only like $20 more

Or try out Sprint's Fair and Flexible, since you like the idea of an adjusting plan.

I don't like it for the reason stated earlier. Just be a responsible adult, use "my account" or #646(#MIN) to watch your usage, and if you are going over change your plan. If you are always going over, as you stated, then obviously you need the next plan up.

Thats true, I have used both #min and my account. Its not a constant thing with me to the point that i would change my plan. But with this i would think i would have the flexabilty to pay the cheapest and fall within my range instead of startin at a pre determined point.
