Corporate Discount vs. Merits
Just wondering, I am a current Merits member, but I know I could qualify for the corporate discount, but never looked into it. Is it basically the same discounts as Merits (upgrade every 12 mo. w/ 25% off accessories all the time), or is there other benefits of signing up for the corporate discount?

I don't know what the basic corporate discount is but I get a discount through Hewlett Packard. Activation fee waived on two year contracts, 20% off standard rate plans greater than $34.99, and 25% off all accessories
Nothing about an upgrade every year, that'd be nice.

Merits get 1 year upgrades, but any price plan 59.99 or higher for 1 year is eligible for an early upgrade at 2 yr pricing, but this would bump your ne2 credit back 22 months from that upgrade day and basically you'd miss your opportunity to use it.

corporate discount will give you a seperate % off your monthly bill. The % will depend on how many phones your company has

oh, and if you have a corporate discount that should not change your merits. Merits is for being on a high end rate plan, so you should be able to take advantage of both at the same tme.

yeahright is correct 🙂

Merits is independent of an employee discount benefit due to your employers contract with VZW. You quite literally check into it since you have nothing to loose. Average discounts range from 8% to 20% of of your monthly service fee(some higher and some lower) and are based on what agreement your employer made with Verizon.
If your employer made a contract with VZ, you very likely should get a discount. If they don't, checking into still loses your nothing and you could gain a percentage off your bill if they do have a contract.
The discount is applied to only lines above $34.99 (exclusions apply to specific promo plans and the share line of a shareplan).
See my post in the 'Discount' thread for deatails to register.
