vZW JOB: 3 interviews, now background check
My wife went to an interview at VZW last week and got through the 3 interviews and now they told her they were going to do a background check (which is clean, no fabrication at all on resume).
Is this a fairly strong indication that she will be offered something?
The first 2 interviews, the managers seemed generally interested in each of them having her in their district since she has a lot of retail experience.

If they are doing the background check then she is almost a sure thing. I've seen many applicants flunk background though. Mostly because they leave off or forget to mention DUI's and such.

Yes she got a good feeling about the first 2 interviews but the woman from HR used the "we are going to do a background check" like it was a negative. Except there is nothing negative in her background. We are always careful to be truthful with resume's in today's world of full disclosure and investigation.

We recently had a job fair and offered 15 applicants positions with VZW. Less than half of them passed background. We have a difficult time finding employees in the Pacific Northwest that can pass a drug screening and a background check.

A job fair is a little different. In your wifes case the background is first and then the job offer. At a job fair they make the offer pending a successful background check results. I've seen background checks take up to two weeks. But usually 48 to 72 hours is the norm.

well after the backround check as long as she is clean and didn't lie on her resume she will be offered a job.....either by phone call or offer letter......

In the Mid West if you are sent for drug screen background check you already have the job along as it is all clear.. Could be different in other places though.. Even the MidWest drug/background ck's are done by a company in Southern CA.

If they weren't just BSing her about the background check she's pretty much in. Those things cost around $500 so they don't do that check for just everyone unless they really were serious about hiring him or her.
