LG rep visit to my store
he had alot to say and alot of info. first off the 9900 is goin to be a very slick phone. it has full BT, and will be MEDIAflo capable with a SW update in the future. the 8500 will be available in different colors by the end of the year. he actually had a "white chocolate" and i must say it was very sexy. 🤤
another cool little toy thats coming out is an update to the lg migo. its goin to have a qwerty keyboard for text messaging. it will be targeted to kids 11 and up. pretty much as soon as kids think the migo isnt cool to carry, they will upgrade to this device.

Are we positive that this is the case. I have heard that the newer versions of the chocolate will have speakerphone, and I have heard it is just a software patch, I hope you are right but I haven't heard for positive if existing chocolates out there will simply need a flash to turn it on?

this was directly from the reps mouth. and also at the kickoff they said it was a simple software update. hopefully thats all it is, and all the others phones can simply just be flashed.

well i agree that it is dumb to not have a phone like this have a speakerphone, so I do believe that a sw patch could fix it. However, if LG intended it to have speaker, where is the button to turn it on? All LG's have a button with a speaker icon on it to turn on/off the speakerphone. It is no where on the chocolate. Is it just going to magically be the top button? Or button 8? Or will new chocolates ship with one printed on the clear button or something?

MediaFLO is not something that can be added to a phone via a S/W flash.
It works on a designated frequency in the 700Mhz spectrum.
MediaFLO has to be built into the the phone to begin with.
Looking at the FCC site for the VX9900, it only lists Digital 800/1900 and Bluetooth 2400.
