That was a good read. I gotta say though, I don't know if this has ever been discussed before because I'm a new forum member, but I have my issues with TM being rated number one. I have never been a TM customer myself, but numerous friends and my girlfriend and her family have been. I gotta say that TM's high customer satisfaction rankings come from giving out a free phone with contract renewal whenver a customer comes in with a problem. But also their old 1 yr contract thing was good too. But I constantly have ex TM customers that say, "well TM used to let me renew my contract before the upgrade date if I (whatever reason)". That, in my opinion, does not mean good customer service. It just means you are shutting the customer up by giving fr...

I was with TM for 3 years. I've been with VZW 2 years. I have to say my experience with customer service was always consistent. Consistently frustrating. I could rant for awhile on them.

Nobody, even VZW is perfect. I have to say I've only had one bump with VZW customer service that eventually got resovled to my satisfaction.

For me there is a clear difference the custmoer service between TM and VZW. VZW is better, hands down.

I think you're wrong. I had to deal with Vz's customer service and their arrongant pricks for two weeks before they could release my number so I could have it ported to Cingular. No past due balance or anything. They just kept refusing to release the number. My 2 years with Vz were just plain hell. From dropped calls to problems with outages. The last straw was when I lost a potential customer and lost thousands of dollars on an account because I couldn't get calls!
If it wasn't because my number is very important (business) I would had just canceled and started over with a new number and ...

I seriously doubt thats the reason why TMO beats VZ in customer service according to JD. They are a much smaller company that is well ran so it is conceivable that they can offer customers with a great experience. Sure they may have problem spots but all other carriers do as well (EVEN VERIZON). You also take notice that TMO has just put up over 800 cell sites. Also, TMO does not offer large subsidies on good phones so if they were giving away anything free, then it probably was a entry level Nokia or year old mid level phone. Thats hardly enough for customers to dance about. VZ is great but they are not perfect and cannot win everything. Their s**t does stink too 🙂
