switching from verizon

recommend me a new wireless carrier, I've got to switch although I would prefer not too. Parents find the bills too high (5 phones on the plan means 2 family plans so its like base $140 plus fees and text messaging and such.) They were talking about going to AT&T but I hear they suck. I'm located in south jersey about 20 miles from Philly so I want something that functions well in this area.

Also feel free to recommend a phone, I had my heart set on the v710, but my dreams have come crashing down.

thanks

5 phones can be done on 1 family share since May, it used to be 4 but with the latest promotion they increased that number. Also, the V710 is out at Radio Shacks now, and will be available through our corporate stores, and telesales on August 11th. I hope this helps.

Not technically discontinued, but being phased out. All the more reason to grab one, as prices will most likely drop.

Why are we talking about the V600? this is a VZW forum, the phone was disco... anyway, we here at VZW have a much better phone the V710.

AT&T is probably a good move. They usually have the best plans, prices, and rates of any carrier, depends on where you're located though. As for the "AT&T sucks" comments that you've heard, its mostly their customer service, not the coverage. Altough its important to have good customer service, I've never had a bad experience with AT&Ts CS. As for coverage near Philly and in Southern Jersey, its great. I've been through Philly and to Atlantic City a few times with AT&T and never had a problem. Also, with the Cingular-AT&T merge, coverage and service will only improve, and Cingular's coverage in your area is excellent.

My idea is to go with AT&T for a good plan at a good price, and in a few months you'll be benefiting from the joint ...
