HELP with long-term, systemic problems from people in the know!

I'm hoping someone out there from Verizon has some suggestions. I know this a long post but please bear with me.

I have had problems with phones since I switched to VZ a few years ago. I swapped out my first phone, an LG 4500, 6 times before they finally put me in a Moto 265. I had gone through more 8 handsets before they switched me to the Moto 276 (as they didn't have the 265 available).

After 3 of those within a month, numerous complaints, hours upon hours spent in VZ stores and on the phone, they finally put me into an LG 5200. This phone is slightly better so far but it is already displaying a host of issues. It is dropping calls like crazy, not trapping calls or phone numbers, ringing inconsistently, the volume is slowly...

I don't think it's that you're poison to the phones as much as it is the phones coming with a nice dose of rabies. You had a bevy of mediocre quality handsets and, because they were all replacements, they were all refurbished. I mean, when it comes down to it, whe...

for a basic phone at this time. the moto 325 is the best for reception, and use as a phone. if you want a higher end phone with reception then the razrv3c or v3m are good. as for lgs and samsungs, they are low on reception. nokias are as good as motos are for recertion. but the quality of nokias has just gone down by the fact that they are not making cdma phones any more, but are having company called pantec make for them. but if you want a phone for a phone. then the moto 325 would be it. plus it doenst have moto old ****ty charging system connection. has new usb connection like razrs have.

well i use razr every day and lg and samsungs cant work every were moto does. tried all new phones and lgs and samsungs suck when you get out of the city areas. and i use phone all over ne ohio daily. in citys and in country areas and lgs and samsungs dont come close. and it doesnt matter if lg is a trimode phone.just wont pull in a signal. lgs and samsungs may end up with all them technology, but what use is it if you cant get a signal because phone has poor rf.plus most of the people on here are in city areas. which should have good rf no matter what phone you have. but when you get into country areas moto wins, especially if phone is trimode- analog capable. im not a moto fan, but out of phone vzw has, they have best rf.

LG 8300 and v325 have pretty much the same signal performance in my trials... I do agree the low end LGs could use better RF design, (5200, 3300, 5300, et-al) but the 81/83 00 work as well as my e815 for the most part... the razrs have a poorly located intenna... ☚ī¸

I have had 4 different phones within the 4 1/2 years I've been with Verizon Wireless, and when it comes to reception, the Kyocera 2235 & Samsung a650 worked great out in in the middle of some of Indiana's cornfields. I had the Motorola 120c and would only work in strong signal areas, and so far, the Samsung a930 (current phone) works out in Lowell Indiana, where reception is spotty. I have yet to try it in Knox & North Judson Indiana, where reception is even worse than Lowell Indiana. My brother has owned the LG VX4400 & Motorola V265, and while both phones for him didn't have good reception, the Motorola V265 was even worse than the LG VX4400, plus the Motorola V265 quit working on him in the middle of his contract, and he had no insuran...

I'd recommend an LG 8300. I used an 8100 and it was the most reliable phone I've ever had. I am currently using a Mot v325 and would much rather have my LG 8100 back. I've had more dropped calls with the Mot 325, but that may be due to the fact that Field Force Manager is running on my handset.
FFM is a GPS based tracking system which allows management to see where I am. It's great for them, but it has definitely caused some dropped calls on my phone.

I've received mixed reviews from customers with the Razrs. Some people love them and others absolutely hate them.

Again, if I personally were going to get a phone today I would pick up an LG 8300.

No I do not just think it is because of your force field thing that your calls get dropped on the V325. We have 2 of them in our family and neither one gets the "great reception" that people rave about and in fact I have tons of dropped calls...way more than I ever did with the Samsung a670...strange I know. I am using an LG now and it is much better than the Moto.

You probably wouldn't want to try the Samsung a850 as my sister has had problems with reception on that phone. I've been lucky for the most part with the Samsung a930 with reception, but do wish it were a tad stronger to match the reception of the Samsung a650. I stayed with Samsung because I had good luck with the a650, and decided to try the a930. The antenna is covered up by the leather case, but reception hasn't been affected by it being covered up. I still prefer phones with retractable antennas. It would be nice if Samsung had a similar setup like Nokia did with the 3589i, where it has a retractable antenna, but when folded completely down, it looks as if the phone had an internal antenna. I've been afraid to try LG as I hear mix...
