Chocolate Sales Are Slow?!?

Want_New_Phone

I never considered the Chocolate to be a serious communications tool, but figured that sales must be through the roof because every teenage kid in the neighborhood either has one or wants one. However, attached article indicates sales are not as good as hoped:

What are the observations of the front-line sales folks. Is article true or BS?

funny how fast cingular people jump on over here and say flop. lmao. we could say that for many cingy phones. but honestly sales have been pretty good from what I have seen. the numbers don't lie and the numbers I have seen were high. not only has he phone sold well but it has also caused a big spike in traffic just to see it so all in all a great launch.

I think that what this article refers to as "disappointing" is that after all the advertisement this phone has gotten; they predicted more units to be sold...

thats odd because in the corporate store that i work for its the most returned phone next to the moto q

and if you are really a tech for vzw you know damn well that there is a known issue bulletin out for the horrific signal of the chocolate so why are you in this forum spouting nonsense I am a big full disclosure person when it comes to selling phones I put it all out there and let people make thier own decision

I flat out will not sell it unless a person is absolutely dead set on taking it

this phone is overhyped and the powers that be at vzw are desperate to sell this thing

i havent really seen any returns on that phone for younger people, really the only ones returning it are the older folks who cant get used to the touchpad.

as for the tech bulletin, Im mainly responsible in my dept for keeping track of those and printing them out and letting our store staff know about them. I dont work again til thursday, but I have not seen a bulletin for that phone yet last time i checked. Nothing a s/w upgrade probably couldnt fix. I have the same phone and i get awesome signal. 4 EV and 4 1X in MY HOUSE!

If being a "full disclosure person" is telling people what is actually good and what is a piece of crap, i am the same way. IDC if people get mad if i tell them their vx3300 is awful or that their razr's battery i...

Look at the carkit support matrix. They don't support half the cars that the RAZR / E815 does.

Seems they are crippling the Sync profile in addition to the OBEX profile now.

What do you expect, RAZRs are everywhere.... Cingular, T-mob, VZW, soon to be Sprint, and every other small time carry. Chocolate is VZW only.... if you wanted to have the next big phone, don't sign with a carry to have it with that company for the life of the phone in the US.

There is alot of buzz, as everyone calls asking to get one, but not alot qualify yet.

Thats not surprising. I had the chocolate for 2 days, well my daughter did, and the BT Synch for cars is completely true.

In both of our cars, Infiniti M45 and Nissan Versa, which both have BT units, the Chocolate would not work with either phone.

All my other VZW phones work with our cars about as well as can be expected.

I btw hate the Chocolate. Great screen but those buttons are aweful. How lond do you think its gonna be before they come out with a regular button chocolate?

we have been selling them well where i am at. The only real issue is price! $200 bucks is a little high for the target market this thing is hitting. I have still sold some but if they dropped the price even $50 i think the sales would double. I also fully explain the phone and demo it because I will not sell it unless you are going to use it for a mp3 player or know what you are getting into. Most people just want it because it looks cool, once i explain how the phone works and figuere out they just want a phone not all that extra crap then they usually back down to the razr or 8300 because they are less$ and easier to use. I myself love my chocolate but it is not for everyone.
