Long time LG VX400 phone dead! Really want 700W to replace my pda and phone so quick question. I know I can disable the data connection but...

if disable the connection to the verizon data network #777 or something I was told it will not connect;

Question is; will it continuously try to ping the server resulting in popups all the time?

Also, why is it that I can only buy the phone with the 'pay as you go' option through my online account? If I do not log in, the website forces you to purchase a data plan of which 'pay as you go' is not an option.

from my understanding if you disable the data connection you shouldn't have any popups. since the connection happens from you wanting it to happen. it dials just like a call to that number. if you don't have wireless sync or anything setup you should be fine I would think. now I have heard that disabling that feature also prevents you from sending pix and things. but I am not 100 percent sure on that. as for what options are available on the website I don't know. unless you being logged in it will allow you being a customer already to to add that feature that we no longer offer to your account instead of being a new line of service needing the pkg or unl data on it. not really sure on that. hope I helped in some way.
