Need Info!!!
I was thinking of purchasing a Motorola q for my son. I no that it does not have Wifi, but I know that it has evdo. My question is if I got the q would I need a data plan to visit website and check my e-mail? Or could I just get the 5-dollar mobile web and surf the internet and check my e-mail? If I can do that than what is the purpose of a data plan????

i think you can get the $5 mobile web feature but that uses your peak minutes unless you use it on your night/wkend minutes. so if you are going to be using it frequently, you would need a lot of minutes on your plan. i guess it depends how much your son needs to use the internet on it.

No you need the data plan for the phone either the unlimited one or pay as you go.
