No tolerance for Prepaid customers
I don't know what your guess policy is on pre paid customers but we are not allowed to accept checks from any of them regardless. I think this is kinda harsh I could understand if we had to verify funds or somethin, but no tolerance. I think this is kind of discrimination based on credit level which is kinda crappy what do you guys think?

Unfortunately the dishonest ruin it for the honest. The amount of times a BAD check has been written for pre-paid service......Then what? You can't just call in and say "so and so wrote me a bad check, stop their account!" That pre-paid money is gone. It's a huge liability to the stores that sell them. We pay more to the collectors, than we'd receive back if the customer did make good with the bad check. I know a lot of stores that don't take check at all, for prepaid or for regular service. We take checks for regular service, as long as the check is less than $300.00.

Corp stores take checks for easy pay or inpulse payments at the counter because funds are verified and automatically taken from their account. But they can not use a check at the payment machine because the checks in the bill payment machines are NOT verified funds and get sent to the bank the old fashioned way to deposit with the cash. However in some parts of the country the payment machines are being changed to automatically debit from their account with checks.
