CDMA, GSM and JCDMA on same Phone

Here's an interesting story for those of us who travel out of the USA, even as nearby as the Carribean:

Verizon needs it too... if they can market it at a reasonable price. Not $350+ like the Motorola A840, Samsung A790 or Samsung i830 were.

Lots of travelers would be thrilled with the ability to use their CDMA phones in Europe and elsewhere.

Yeah that would be good, I would have to check the specs but it is possible. but I am sure it would be at least 350 though for the phone. It was 525 or something like that over there at release if I remember right.

Most of those 'travelers' have already switched to T-Mobile or Cingular. (or maybe Sun Com) 🙄

Not likely. Subscribers want the best coverage at home. That means Verizon. They wouldn't be likely to switch for the occasional trip overseas.

A CDMA phone with worldphone capability would be convenient though.

I speak for experince honey. When I worked for Cingular I'd get a customer at least once a month porting or getting info on quadband GSM phones for this reason.

That's exactly the reason that Verizon customers would love this technology. That's also the reason why Cingular customers who may have left Verizon solely for GSM in Europe would love to return to Verizon's CDMA world. Much better coverage and service here at home.
