Random shutting off
Hi, my LG VX-8100 is randomly shutting off without me touching it.
I bought it a year ago without a guarantee or anything that wasn't automatically included.
Am I eligible for replacement?
If not, is there a solution to this problem?
Thanks.

You can take it to the store and have the software flashed. The tech will also look for any obvious damage and corrosion. If neither of these exist and the phone is still under 1 year warranty, then it will be replaced. I also believe all regions give a 50.00 wrranty replacement phone for phones out of warranty now IF the damage can't be traced back to the user. I may be wrong about all regions though, because I only know my own for sure.

Thanks. What's the chance that they replace it with an 8300?

How long have you been a customer, are you paying more than $99/month for your voice? Do you have a text/pix package *AND* vcast on your plan? if all of them are true your chances are pretty good... otherwise you'll wind up with a furby 8100, which isn't a bad deal, cause when they furb them there's actually a human running the calibration and analasys on it, rather than mass production automation...
YMMV. 🙂

Thanks for your response.
Less than a year; can't say; no txt/pix; no vcast. Oh, well. The 8100's not bad though 😉

you can do free mobile web without having to hack it with a data-cable... can't do that on the 8300s! 🙂

Hey, I never learned to do that!

If you haven't already... pull the battery out. Usually random shut offs is a software glitch and rebooting the phone by pull the battery works

My 8300 has started doing this too
