Amazon Verizon Phones

Hey everyone, I ordered & purchased 3 new Verizon cell phones on amazon.com

I am currently a T-Mobile user and plan on porting my 3 numbers over. I also plan on just selling the new phones on eBay and use some old Verizon phones I brought on eBay.

I am guessing that when the phones arrive in the mail, it will include some activation instructions (like a code or something). Because it wants me to dial *228 on the phones.

My question is could I just activate the used phones on the new Verizon account instead of on the new phones to avoid opening the new phones.

If anyone knows...it would be great. thanks

i dealt with this about 2 months ago. the customer did something like this and ended up getting charged the full cost of the phone she got from Amazon. Amazon is pretty wierd for them to get paid and for you to get your rebates you would have to have the phoens act. for 6 months and i'm talkinga bout the phones you bought from amazon. now if you do what your sayin your taking a HUGE RISK OF GETTING CHARGED UPTO 400 PER PHONE since your not using the phones they sold you. So good luck and understand VZW won't help you if you get charged.

Thanks for the insight. But i have a question, what if the phone some reason breaks before the 6 months and I had to replace it with a different phone?

There is no way Amazon would charge with, would they? Do you work for amazon? You mentioned "you dealth with a customer?"

i work for vzw, the its a warranty issue and amazon understands that they don't understand you buy a new phone from them selling it for a profit. the min. you gave amazon your cc number and act. service you sign 2 agreements one with VZW AND ONE WITH AMAZON a d2 year agreement with vzw and a 6month with them. amazon expects you to use there phone they sold you at a "dirt cheap price" to start service not to see it and make money.

This is the truth. The phone must be active for at least 180 days...

Sell it on ebay then come back here and apologize to the two reps who told you not to do it.

actually make that three reps.

Why not just start the service with the phones you already had?

or you could just go down to your friendly neighborhood indirect dealer we usually beat most prices and will price match. plus we let you change around your esn as much as you want just not your phonenumber. VZWTEMP- a lot of these online retailers do what the others are saying i've read through the wirefly aggreement personally and i know they want you too keep the same phone you activated. or you wont get your 6 month rebates and they claim to charge you $250 if you don't. i havn't read the amazon one personnally but i would reccomend the customer read it very carefully.

LOL. Can you say class action lawsuit? Remember that?

I have one or two a day that "saved" money by going online and then they bring the phone into us with questions.

Class action for what? Amazon clearly states upfront that they are going to bend you over if you take advantage of the "discount" they are offering you.

I find it funny that people continue to buy phones from these types of outfits and then cry about all the not so hidden restrictions just because they are too lazy or useless to read the terms.
