I have a sprint A940, I am getting my first PDA. I want a good phone, caledar/task list type thing is the most important, be able to browse the internet being right up there, email is a definite, but not extremely important, maybe check it once a day, i use outlook for work, AOL at home. Playing MP3's and using the media player would be pretty cool tool. I am looking at the Q and the 6700. i like the keyboard on the 6700, but have heard bad things about the lag, screen freezes, restarts needed. The Q battery life i heard is bad but don't mind getting an extended battery. does anyone have anything good or bad to say about either? thanks so much!

If you're considering the PPC-6700, why are you thinking on bailing on Sprint? Verizon doesn't offer nights and weekends before 9 pm with any of their rate plans, gives either $50 or $100 for their new Every Two and use a third party vendor(Solectron) for their service and repair? Sprint's Fair & Flexible rate plans' nights and weekends start at 7 pm at NO ADDITIONAL charges, $150 towards a new handset after having a handset for 24 consecutive months and their service & repair technicians ARE Sprint Nextel Inc. employees. Verizon may drop mad money on marketing and advertising, but neither are going to help you making and receiving calls.
As far as the PPC-6700 goes, it's an excellent data concentric device and is best described as an ...

If you must have a windows based software, I would suggest the Q with and extended battery (trust me you're going to need it!) If you don't "need" to have a windows based software I would suggest the 700p.......Or even the 700w due to the battery life compared to the Q.

700's have service issues right now, the Q's web is slow, and you can only open documents you cannot edit them, 6700 is alot better, verizon has a hp coming out soon which is comparable to the 6700,

sprint has to start their minutes at seven because they need to try to keep their customers, verizon doesnt start their minutes at seven because most customers are on the right minute plan and are able to be covered and not have to watch their minutes. sprint/nextel are trying to do everything they can to keep their current customers. read phone reports lately, they are dropping like flies!

I forget where I read it, but in the northest area for every customer verizon losses to sprint through porting, Verizon gets 17 of Sprints customers. If people were happy with sprint, it would be a lot closer. And no, I don't have a link to quote those numbers, but its accurate. If anything those numbers are out of date and that number is higher now. If anyone has a link, prove me right or wrong.

I'd recommend the 6700 over the Q. First off the Q is only a smart phone; it won't allow you to do as much as the 6700 which is a full pocket pc.

The 6700 has a faster processor, talk time/standby time is longer, has Windows Media Player 10 while the Q only has the standard media player. And the 6700 has a larger screen which is great for watching videos. I personally like watching Arrested Development on it!

Hope this helps...

If you want a phone with pda capabilities get the Q. If you want a pda that also works as a phone then get the 6700. That is my suggestion, so is your data and email more important or phone. I love the 6700 but i use my phone way to much and that thing is like talking on a brick. Now it does have the ability to edit word and excell documents in your email while the q only allows viewing and no touch screen, but for me I would go with the Q, easy to use in one hand and not as bulky when used as a phone.
