WADR,
A speakerphone will always provide less fidelity than an in the ear type headset, due to all your recieve audio bouncing off the soft objects in the car.
If you're using a built in type car kit, you will be able to get some real audio, whereas, at any highway speed, built in speakerphones, (except probably some nextel versions) lack enough volume to hear all but the LOUDEST of talkers on the other side.
Now if you really want to be able to hear someone clearly, stereo buds like come with the music essentials kits work well. Not legal for driving though!
