Unauthorized Charger?
customer tried to buy a car charger from me to use on her v3m so I sold her a regular v3 charger
she came back and said her phone rejected the charger and it said "unauthorized charger"
so basically you can only use chargers sold by Verizon Wireless stores now???

they need to have a resistor across 2 of the pins to identify to the phone as authorized... Your chargers jus tput out USB voltage on the pins, same thing happens when plugged into a computer, unless you install certain software it says unauthorized charger too...

no, but the aftermarket ones suck more then the OEM. It seems that this "unauthorized" is pretty common. But even more so with aftermarket chargers. Moto went from one poorly designed charging port to one that is an ok design...just poorly made...

But even the verizon ones are aftermarket, they are not motorola chargers just a third party sticking verizon stickers on them.

Did the customer have a leather case on their phone? The reason i ask is my razr always did this to me no matter what charger i used when i had the case on because the charger didn't go in far enough, i had to slide the bottom of the case off and plug the cord in flush with the phone to get it not to read this.
