I received the LG VX8500 Chocolate today. I like it, except I can not get it to sync! I installed the music essentials cd rom and have Windows Media Player 10. I go to the media player and set the sync list, put my phone in sync mode and Windows Media Player keeps saying "No Device Has Been Detected. Press F5 to refresh the player". I have tried so many different things and can not get it to sync!! Please, anyone... Help me before I lose it. Thanks.

Maybe you usb port is dead. Do you have windows xp? Try it on a different computer or a different usb port.

I'm sorry to break your heart, but this is a known software issue. LG is currently working on the fix...you can call data support for some help just in case, but ordinarily they will tell you to take it to the store to see if a flash will fix it...or you can wait for the next software update to come out.

Ok. I can wait 😢
I have tried different usb ports, I even tried on a different computer. Yes, I work for VZW but haven't been there awhile. I wonder if this happens to all or just some. My luck, I'm just one of a few that this happens to.

After 2 tech emails and 2 phone tech supports with Verizon I have found a fix. It is risky and not even Microsoft supports this idea. You have to manually change registries on your computer. If you make a mistake it could force you to reinstall your operating system. I returned the phone on my 15th day and didn't take the risk. But if you are computer savoy it might be the fix ou need.
