Indirect Agent- Your insurance policies

As an Indirect store owner I'd like to hear how some of your insurance policies work, if you offer your own. How much do you charge, what does it cover, are there any deductibles, how many replacements, etc.?

Thanks!

I worked for a company a few years back that had their own.

I think it was $75 for a year, but you had to pay it upfront at the time of activating and it was a $25(?) dedutible, you could do 1 claim per year but you got a brand new phone and got to pick it up at the store and not have to call the 800 number and have it shipped

We currently charge $60 and cover the full two years of the contract. We will replace a phone twice within that two year, but give them the option to pay $60 more on the second replacement to repurchase the insurance.

I'm really thinking about changing the policy to only cover 1 replacement.

Yes, I guess so. We sell the plan and then we replace the phone when something happens.

We have a three tier option plan.

$29.99
$49.99
$69.99

Those prices are based on the purchase price of the phones.

Free, $9.99, $19.99, $29.99, $39.99 are mostly in the $29.99 price range, etc.

It covers everything that the Asurion program does. Lost, broken, stolen, wet, etc...$50 deductible. 2 claims, 1 per year. If no claim made the first year then it is lost. Most of the time its a claim by claim basis on that.

No new phones, all refurbs and have a 90 day warranty.

Once the upgrade passes and/or the contract end date passes then the policy, if there are claims left, then they are lost.

Hope that helps..
