I accidently dropped my VX8100 in the water this morning, basically it is fried.

I know I can get the insurance but it will be another 8100..should I spring for the KRZR..get insurance replacement...?

Thanks

If you have inusrance chances are they will send you another 8100 there is a $50 deductiable what I would do is get the ins. replacement sell it on ebay and use that money towards purchasing the krzr if that's the phone you really want!

Personally I would take the 8100 and take it apart (if you can), let it dry out, maybe give it a good scrub with electronics cleaner, then I would let it dry completely, put it back together and i would say you have a 75% chance of it coming back.

I think that every phone that we come out with be required to be water and shock resistant. It would save us and customers both many headaches

Thanks for all your help..Not really in to the water proof phone..this was just a fluke.

Well I took screen protectors off and can now see screen..it does ring and text..vibrate..talk etc.

Anytime there is a call (been testing it) call gets lost.

Maybe after a lil while today I can make calls..otherwise I guess I will shell out the $50 for the insurance (since won't affect upgrade dates)

Not a huge fan of MOTO but do like KRZR syle.. I will wait to upgrade to the VX8600 when and if it evers comes out.

You should really take it apart and dry it out if you're handy like that. It will improve your chances of reviving the phone about 40%.

Yeeks, that phone is kinda ugly! 😕 But I guess if someone is prone to dropping phones in water alot it might be a good thing to have.
