I just got two cards to try out - a Sierra AC555 & a PC3220. I installed the 555 on my laptop with absolutely no trouble, and it flies. In fact, I'm posting this from my bathroom. Average speed, 60-80 kbps, occasional bursts where I can hit 120-140 (late at night, other times with no network traffic).

The 3220, on the other hand, has been more problematic. I have an older laptop running Win2K (probably part of the problem), and I can't get it to run with Mobile Connection MAnager at all. A 40-minute call to Data Support later, and we set up a manual dial-in that sort-of works. It connects, but browsers aren't connecting, it seems like. Not IE, not Mozilla, not Opera. The 3220 is a serious POS. It has an enharent problem with it that it wants to Roam on SprintPCS' towers over Verizon's. They released patches for it but the only fix they had is upgrading to the 3320 to replace it (this don't have the same problem)... I rember I was sitting at work with the 3220 in my laptop and the Verizon tower is just over my head atop of my building and it was roaming with the sprint tower that was across the street (looks like a ugly fake tree)

I'd exchange that puppy out if I was you.

Done, and DONE. The 3220 went back, and the 555 is now a happy & productive member of my electronic-gizmo family. A bit more expensive, but not much, and although it is older, I find...
