I have a customer in my store that wants an inexpensive all digital (perferably) phone with an outside display, and here is the kicker...NO CAMERA! I can't think of a decent one to recommend that isn't in the fifty dollar range. any thoughts?

4650, not sure what you are doing them for but we are giving them away.

Why do they want an all digital?

That was my thought too, but none of them are all digital, and he's pretty insistant. Has a tri now and drops calls left and right. (you know customers, they want what they want) We live in an area that has very limited analog, and pretty good digital. We are also in the Mountians so its not uncommon to go into the woods and pull 2 bars of analog or 1 bar of digital. (generally you can get a better call with the 1 bar of digital, but if you have a tri-mode phone it will attempt to place the call in analog) So maybe he's got the right idea.
Any thoughts?

There are not any phones available that fit his requirements, you could always go into the phones programming and set it to digital only, thats pretty insane to me that he DOESNT want a tri mode phone, does he realize that a trimode phone has the same as an all digital phone PLUS analog, he is not loosing anythign he is only gaining extra?

But I do know what you mean when a customers has their mind set on something, you just need to convince him otherwise.

Could always go dig up an old 4500 somewhere

I had the Samsung 650 and went into the field service menu and disabled analog. (I'd say the Samsung 570 would be the ticket. (I think that had a good ext display and was digital only, no camera.- You could sell a million of them in the DC area)
I understand this person's situation.
If you have a tri mode phone, it will go into analog more frequently than you think-especially since most folks keep their phone in their pocket, and the phone 'falls back' to analog, and tries to autonomously register, using battery. Kind of like what happens when you have a tri mode and forget and leave it on and launch in an airplane...dead battery fairly soon.
So, if you have a good tri mode that can EASILY have analog shut off, and it has no ca...

How are you giving them away? They cost nearly $150 our cost and no rebates!

Any other phones you can get deals on like that?

Yeah, I would love to brag about what I get them for, lets just say they are about 50% less then what Verizon shafts us on.

However I ran across these deals after many many many months of eamiling people and a lot of phone calls, so no, I am not oging to give out my sources, but if you spend some time researching you can find deals too, the are out there.

Oh yeah, they are all rebateable.

I'll have to do that. I hate wasting money and getting shafted. Any pointers on where to start? I've tried the manufacturers directly, they won't sell to us. And Brightstar, Cellstar, Brightpoint all pretty much suck.

I've talked to you on email before probably a year or so ago. Something about pre-paid, ebay, and you're in Florida. Ring a bell? lol

Actually... you can email me at [email protected]. I never use that account and nobody will know me on here from that! lol If you'd like that is.
