Waterproof Phone?!? WHO CARES?!?!?!?

Sounds like you all need designated dialers...you probably leave drunken voicemails on your friends phones...

Then there are the calls to the ex girlfriends, which im not going to even get into here, because as any guy will know, those calls arent pretty

question.. any guesses on what the hell the grill looking thing that surrounds the housing is? i thought maybe you could hook that on your backpack or something i don't know tho

That would be my guess too, possibly a "buffer" for when its dropped to absorb some of the impact?

I bet there are screws to take it off though, because otherwise it is going to be fugly.

Im still getting one so when I go fishing/outside to work, I can do an esn change on real quick and know that the phone will hold up to abuse.

That grill looking thing has a very specific purpose. In case you are scuba diving (which is why the phone is waterproof) and you get attacked by a shark, the steel cage expands into a shark tank, as seen on discovery channel.

In all seriousness though, I dont think it would be used to hang from a backpack, as it is on the wrong side. It would cause the phone to flop open and hang long, making it vulnerable to the elements...err, damage.
