Intresting new service from Verizon coming next month

Looks like its from VZ com instead of VZW, but still interesting. I'll post the article in a separate post for VZW reps who can't see this.

As all cell phone-, laptop- and BlackBerry-toting busy bees know, voicemail and e-mail can quickly become a burden to check, so Verizon has answered their call.

In September, the phone company plans to test a service called Iobi that lets customers manage voicemail, e-mail and text messages through an application on their PCs, handheld computers or -- naturally -- their phones. The program works like a virtual switchboard operator, letting users manage communications through their land lines, cell phones and Internet connections.

For example, customers could use the application to transfer calls made to their homes during working hours to their office or cell phones. Or, calls could be transferred to voicemail, which itself could be ...
