There is only one reason. Sprint has the capacity since it operates 1900 on all towers. Verizon has around 50% in the 800 band and is feeling the cruch.

Trying to argue with wombough is futile, I attempted the other day but he has Sprint (of all carriers) tunnel vision.

Thats not true. I don't hate Verizon. I am pointing out what was in black and white. Are you denying their 800 band is not to capacity and they have the spectrum sprint does?

Also its not tunnel vision. I have tried them all to include your loved verizon. and none have done for me what sprint has. Just my outlook. Thats all.

thats great but i was referring to their voice service, so instead of dropping all that time and $ upgrading their data they should be expanding voice coverage first.

The great thing about upgrading the Data network with EVDO Rev A is that VOIP calls can be made on a Rev A phone. Thus... they are upgrading the voice network.

are they adding coverage???my understanding is no. What good does the upgrade do me when there is no service where i need it. Sprint needs to improve their coverage greatly, that should be 1st priority, i live in a well populated area and work in on as well and they are the only carrier that is crapin both and the only carrier that gets 0 receprion at my house, just flat no service. Tmobile even works where i live

The problem is the definition of "Unlimited". What Verizon doesn't say is if it is Unlimited Data Usage or Unlimited Airtime to access to data network. I think with VZW it's the latter... Plus Sprint has how many customers??? They need an edge and if it's taking VZW's scraps from termed abusers... oh well. It's nice they launched the REV A card before the network was launched and they will probably launch a full quarter before VZW.
