I just bought the K1m and can't add my personalized ringtones like I could before, with Motorola Phone Tools.

Is this a new policy, or a defect in the first release of the firmware?

Yes, they figured out using P2KCommander today.

My question was more toward the future. Verizon previously supported software that allowed the average user to make his own ringtones and apply them to the phone.

Now is the policy "add our ringtones or no ringtones"?

BitPim is holy. You need a USB cord for your phone and the drivers so your windows based computer will recognize your phone. Then just download Bitpim and voila. (You can just buy the music kit, which includes the cord, drivers and a headset if you would like, but usually you can find the drivers online for free and the USB cord online for $15ish.)

Emailing sometimes doesnt work, I know I tried this before I discovered BitPim. Alot of the time you cant get the files JUST right for it.

Army:

The HoFo thread "Motorola KRZR K1m: Bitpim - Does it work?" concludes that you must use PK2Commander. BitPim connects but won't move the file.

Let me know if you are looking at a different link than this one:

The poster said the only "supported" way. VZW's only "supported" way is through GIN.

I love bitpim though!
