MediaFLO, which isn't officially announced like Sprint... I'm sure something like VCast TV is coming, then after that the Onmifrequency network will launch whereas you can telepathically communicate over your mobile phone as well as send mental images in your mind like a pix message.

Nextel,
how about any carrier's plan for 4g? and don't just spit wimax or other technologies at me. I'm really wondering what kind of applications could be used by a 4g technology. Obviously everything offered now could be a little faster, but besides that?

There are a lot possible applications for a 4G network, but these are all predicated upon actual real world performance resembling the controlled tests. It also depends on what the final specs will for the 4G will be.

As I understand things now, there will be an extreme increase in bandwidth and much improved QOS. Should everything work out right, this will allow for a much larger and better Voip network -something Verizon is working hard to implement properly on their 3G network. Also potentially, you could see better streaming options for video, music, television and other multimedia content. All these things are currently implemented on 3G networks, to varying degrees of success.

Frankly, 4G is just marketing speak at this po...

But Wimax is one of the 4G technologies out there and as you know, Sprint is doing that. Flash-OFDM is another 4G technology.

4G will allow for lower latency applications, more data rich content and speeds to develop and much more bandwidth and speeds to allow more solutions to be on a single or dual network.

There could be video conferencing, ability to download client data and others at rapid speeds, VOIP, it depends what spectrum but it also enhances coverage and capacity, quad or triple play devices such as the Sprint and cable joint venture situation and there are also vast lists of things one can do with 4G. Just like we have those data devices such as PDAs and Data cards, those will also come into play and derive vast data spe...

DVB-H runs on an entirely independent network. There is absolutely no need to deploy 4G technology to utizilize DVB-H.

4G as a set of standards hasn't even been completely ratified yet. Most of your carriers that are deploying/talking about deploying 4G networks are actually looking to deploy technologies that may reach certain 4G standards once they have been set. The reality is that many networks are still backed by a 2G network with 3G in denser population areas. The move to true 4G is a ways down the road.
