HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO CANCEL YOUR SERVICE???

schlittertex

Oct 12, 2006, 12:53 PM
Since this is the only good question I can think of to ask the Verizon Reps that frequent this forum...How much is it to cancel your contract?

Feel free to add on why I should stay...and I will add on with my real world experience why I should not.

Thank you.

If within contract but outside of your 15 days, $175 per line plus your normally billed charges.

You mean your normal charges just for that first (or previous) months, right?
...

Oct 12, 2006, 2:38 PM
And any additional charges you would have accrued for downloads, overage, etc, yah.

it is like that i live in Seattle and went and got tmobile service,

tmobile rep: tmobile is the best esp in this area where tmobile has its headquarters.

Yeah but I don't live in Seattle where Verizon could be better. Where I live people I know with T-Mobile get better service. For MY area it is better. I have had no one in MY area talk bad about T-Mobile, so that would be my choice. Right now though, honestly when I had cingular I could get phone calls out in my Deer stand. With Verizon I can't get a call in the Camp site, nor on the road near or around the area.

I don't listen to reps, I listen to people who have actually used the services, in MY area.

I live in the Houston Area, and my Verizon service has never been that good. My cingular service was better when I had it, but now I want to give T-mobile a try.

I have to say there are some pretty die hard fans when it comes to networks and service providers. I just like cool phones lol.

I'm curious as to why you would want to leave the most reliable network

Lol, I am going to take that as a joke. But I am going to answer you seriously.

The reason being is that honestly T-Mobile gets better service in the South West.

I also don't trust Verizon. Now that their detailed billing came out. My bill dropped by 20 bucks and I never go over on minutes or txts and I was just curious why would my bill drop like that. Unless they were always overcharging in the first place.

The UI has me just feeling stupid to pay more for a phone that does the same thing that the other phones with the same UI do, that are cheaper.

I like the Idea of a SIM card, and some people are against it because its easy to use their phone if stolen, here is a thought, you know people are going to steal so keep be...

Yes I would like to know why you are leaving as well. I won't try to convince you to stay though I know Verizon is the best.
Just let us know what the problem(s) is/were. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

You can read my reply to ArmySF. That will explain it all. Though my biggest prob is the Verizon UI, and I would gladly spend 175 to get out of my contract to get a cool phone.

just because you want a cool phone doesn't mean you're doing it to show off

it's all about customer satisfaction and getting something for your money

I know nobody likes the ui and you say you are willing to spend 175 to get out of contract but the why did you stay with vzw in the first place? You knew about the ui in the first place....and for everyone who says vzw locks you down and gives you no freedom is bs....you have the freedom to choose a carrier, but just like army has said in the past its the network that brought him back.

by the way army rant away because I love watchin people get all pissed at you....for speaking your opinion....you can't do that on the sprint forum they all start crying and calling names....good stuff man keep it up..

Actually I didn't know, I have had my service for a while and renewed it this year, and this week is the first week I have been on this forum. So actually I did not already know. I found out they changed it when I went to go buy a phone after I had been using my PDA for awhile. Before that I had another phone that was different then the UI they have now.

ETF is $175, educated consumers should know that... also I'm not going to waste time giving you tons of reasons why you should stay, you're an adult you can make your own choices.
...
schlittertex

Oct 12, 2006, 10:57 PM
Lol, well yes I should have been more educated on the ETF, but I guess I have been too busy working on my second degree to remember whether it was 150 or 175. And the giving reasons thing was my sarcastic jab to those that were going to try and convince me that, I wasn't going to listen to...but its whatever. Thank you for your time.

BTW, schlittertex, Verizon Wireless, does not nor wish to "beg one" to stay.. Sometimes one cost more to talk to them (ie, every call to speak with a rep is approx. $7.75) so you do the math.. If you are calling in every day is not real cost effect, is it?? Sorry we don't beg, the numbers are the bottom line .. Wish you the best with whatever new service you choose, and I am sure they are not going to be overly concerned if you, youself fail to understand your contract terms due to your busy schedule!! Cell phone provider's are not your personal babysits! Read the terms or not that my dear is your choice.. But dont gripe about them when you failed to read them....

I am not griping just asking because I couldn't get any assistance at my local retail store. Any body who can get out of something for free but pays is a moron so I wanted to make sure. And my busy schedule and pointing out that I am working on my second degree was kind of my way of saying I was better than someone else, so don't worry about that statement.

Bottom line is this.. It is 175.00 to cancel service however I know from the midwest area verizon will be pro-rating their early termination fees. Don't know when exactly but according to the press confrences and quotes from verizon CEOs directly its suppose to be this fall.. So should be anytime now.
