Motorola V710 pricing

I have been waiting for the V710 phone because of its bluetooth capabilities and it's finally arrived, however the pricing is different from what Verizon/Motorola has quoted in their earlier press release (also confirmed by Verizon wireless personnel last week). The pricing was supposed to retail at $319 with $70 off for a two year contract, what I have been quoted this morning is that it's $419 with a $70 discount for a two year contract.

As a 10 year customer I'm upset at this, and I'm considering moving to another carrier (any suggestions) who offer bluetooth phones at much lower price.

History has shown that these prices are artificially set high and then reduced after a few initial months.

Any suggestions?

Retail price on a motorola V710 on a 2-year agreement is $319 WITH a $70 MIR (mail-in-rebate). It is $369 on a 1 year agreement with the MIR.

Now this is on a NEW 2-year agreement. New being that the customer never had a VZW phone and is setting up a new phone number. I don't know the prices for upgrades for existing customers. The price might be different or it might be the same.

If the V710 is more expensive for an upgrade it would be $369 on a 2-year upgrade or $419 on a 1 year upgrade. At least that is the logical answer. Might be more or might be the same as the new activation prices.

Now before those start whinging about "But I'm a 10 year customer" keep in mind you are not paying an activation fee, you are not paying for a p...

Thought I would chime in and tell you the prices on 1 and 2 year agreements on phones are not Retail price. "Retail Price" is what the Equipment actually costs that the manufacturer puts on it, not the discounted price Verizon puts on the 1 or 2 year agreement.

The motorola 710 is $419.99 Retail Price
No contract

Hey man we get potential customers in here, not good to confuse them. Thats where us salespeople get some of our problems from....misinformation to customers from other sources. But people make mistakes so I replied nicely...chill.

You have been w/ us for ten years and your going to leave because you were quoted differently for a phone that wasn't even out yet? Ten years is a long time to be w/ one carrier, i'm sorry your thinking about leaving over $100.

It really gets to me when customers must feel they have to "blackmail" companies into giving them what they want with threats of disconections... Though it gets to me even more that at times it may actualy be nessary. ☚ī¸

Oh not with this CSR the first moment they threaten me, that when i come alive, I did AOL cancelations for 4 year, and got to the point where the idea that came was "SO be it, You'll be back" 9 times out of 10 they were, seems to be so with VZW customer or any for that matter, but damn my heels go into the ground when they pull that crap on me. 😈

thats what I think, I figure that if your going to make a ridiculous request to me and then try to blackmail me into it, then fine, go try another carrier and see if they will give you your request. If they do, well good for you and them, if they don't, well then hopefully they come back... or they'll go to someone else and cause them trouble. 😛

VZW.com shows that the v710 has a two year price of 319.99 and you get a mail in rebate of $70 for a total purchase price of $249.99. If you purchase the phone online at VZW.com you'll get the $70 mail in rebate on the spot---nothing to mail in; so you'll pay $319.99 at a store(if you agree to a 2 year contract) and get a $70 mail in rebate or just pay $249.99 online. If you order online make sure you register for my acct and order the phone through there.

are you still in contract,if so you will have to pay full retail which is 419.99,if you are 12 months into a 2 year contract you may be able to do a early upgrade at the 319.99 price, minus the 70.00 mail in rebate, which puts phone at 249.99.so if you was told 419.99 then you are still in a contract and the 419.99 is the full retail price you will have to pay. good luck,so far the 710 is on average with the startac phones in build.havent tried out every thing yet, trying to decide on ear set to get. verizon has the 820 for 79.99 with 20.00 mail in rebate.
