Verizon likes money. If YOU don't like money, reply to this post as to why they shouldn't either... Otherwise Enjoy... 😁

Verizon should just offer the phones that the manufacturers offer, without screwing with them before the consumer gets them.

That would make a simple end to the BT cripple threads.

Interesting point... so in summary you don't like money?

I do agree with the fact that they need OBEX phones. I admit, I'm the guy that ruins it for everyone else... the one who would abuse the hell out of it and pirate ringtones and GIN apps like crazy. Sorry :-(

I like you. But Bluetooth is just an "off network" function, like the alarm clock.

GIN apps have NOTHING to do with BT. There is NOTHING you can't do with BT that threatens GIN more than the simple cable that you can buy at the corporate stores.

It has NOTHING to do with the with the non-subscriber phone functions that people buy (not rent) when they buy a [handset] phone.

They buy a phone and want all of the features that the makers say they can do.

You're so full of it your eyes are brown.

If it wasn't for the network and the fact that almost all my friends and family are also on VZW I would leave VZW in a heartbeat.

But as for the BT/GIN BS, this one of the biggest bunch of lies i've ever heard. You know why? I have a Nokia 6256i, which has FULL BT and GIN. There is DRM software that prevents any time of hacking and the few people that actually can do it would not effect VZW's bottom line.

VZW does it because they can, pure and simple.

So if only a few people will hack phones to be able to put ringtones on there wtf is the point of having full obex and bluetooth. I could understand opening it up for transfering pics or phone book to work with your car better. I don't see what the big deal is. Its not like if they open up bt there are a million other things that you can all of a sudden do. Somebody correct me if I am wrong here but I am sick of all these f'ing bt threads. They open it up great, keep it the way it is and I still don't care. I still don't have a need for it.

Well I can't help it your simple.

Imagine it like this... you buy a television but your cable company prevents you using the builtin vcr/dvd player. Why, because they are afraid you would record the shows you wanted to watch. Really it doesn't affect cable service but because of so few limited choices you're stuck.

Just because YOU don't use something, doesn't mean others wouldn't if given the opportunity.

As for the things that you can and can't do with bt... the point isn't about what you could do, its more along the lines of WHAT WE CAN'T DO, on phones we as consumers have purchased... but ohh no VZW isn't a phone seller... BS if they are putting their logo all over it and dictacting features, dictacting UI, determining amounts...

Full of what? I stated that they do it for the money... wouldn't you if the money was going into your pocket?

Atleate they could allow some of the other bluetooth features work. I don't see them letting you transfer ringtones/games/or your photos, but come on, your phonebook should be able to sync with your car's bluetooth system correctly. That is just lame. I am sure they could find a way to block certain folders in your phone like ringtones and still allow phonebook transfer.

While I am sure that there are copyright claims on certain ringtones and games, I disagree that personal pictures should be locked onto the handset except for getting them off the phone over the subscriber network.

I don't really think that users realize that they bought a "pay per use" camera when they buy a Verizon phone, and you have to get lucky with the OEM if they have a utility like Mobile Phone Tools to be able to get the pictures OFF the phone.

Now the Km1 won't allow you to get the pics off using MPT "at the carriers request"....

wow way to cut the one section out that sounds like i was argueing with you. I agree bluetooth cripling is bs, it pisses me off to, but my main complaint is the phonebook tranfer between car systems, that one is just rediculous, YOu should without question be able to get your verizon to link with your acura or bmw bluetooth systems. Pictures and music i don't care, i just use my card reader, ringtones through mms, but i can't blame them for blocking ringtone transfer, but man you should be able to atleaste sync your phonebook. They could block games and ringtones folder and unlock the rest, including pix of your daughter. But hey they now let you send a vcard through bluetooth 🤣 what a joke

Thanks for the agreement. To me, it's a property rights type of thing. You bought the phone and Verizon blocks you from trading your personal files with other devices.

I hope they realize this and another Class Action doesn't come out of it.

There were 660,000 V710 users who got new phones and/or full rebates w/o ETF. Plus they got slammed with $6M in legal fees. Maybe it needs to happen again.

I got $319 back but a whole lot more satisfaction.

I fail to see where I posted in the ORIGINAL post anything about services. I said they like money, plain and simple.

oh lord, don't you all get it.. It's not a money factor, who else disables some functions of BT... Sprint? That's right, what's the relation with the two companies.. ohhh could it be BREW, are ya gettin' it now maybe, maybe there’s a contract there and if the companies let xfers over the air other than thru the network there could be a breech somewhere…(speculation) If vzw was so cheap then why would they let users save pictures to an sd card? You can just as easily get them off that way. Look at the phones vzw carries, all the pda/smart phones that don't run BREW have full access to Bluetooth, gosh….

I don't know why you stay when you can port to sprint and not have a crippled phone, you do realize I can force my phone to roam and grab a verizon tower anytime I want?

Jake, you're right. There is no simple answer and it is a damn lossy situation, I love Verizon for the Network. I love the USA but I don't agree with the war in the Middle East.

So I guess I am an infidel and I hate that thought too. All I can do is rant and maybe some day the decision makers will listen.

Tonight I am in Galveston TX with "No Service". I'll shut up and have a double rum/ diet coke and go to bed.

Everybody in this forum probably wants me to say that. To...
