i take very good care of my phone (v3c). i dont drop it, make calls in the rain, etc. My phone is very important, however, i noticed last time i was cleaning the battery contacts that the little white dot had turned red. I think that has something to do with water damage but my phone works fine. should i get it checked out now or am I doomed to spend 400$ on another phone? Can anyone help me?

If a problem does occur with the phone unfortunately a vzw corp store wont replace it because of the water mark, we understand that the phone may never have come into contact with water we just have to follow policy. One thing you can do is call Motorola and send them your phone they will actually take it apart and inspect for water damage as long as your in you 1 yr man warranty they will replace for you. Hope this helps

If your phone works fine then there is nothing to have checked out, unfortunately for you if the dot has turned red then they will not replace it for you if in the future something where to go wrong. I'm curious what do you use to clean the battery contacts with, an eraser? rubbing alcohol?

I just use a qtip, im not sure if im suppossed to use a solvent so i just dont. but the point is, my battery is ok, everything charges fine and there isnt any corrosion around the charging port. This way, i can show them its probably a faulty strip, so if something were to go wrong, it wouldnt be my fault.

so true, me and other staffers play this game called red dot roulette.. when someone walks up to the tech desk with a razr, we make a silent bet on what color the dot will be. Ive seen white (good), red (bad), half and half (crap), black & chunky (i dont even know how), missing (my favorite), wrong material (scammers, love showing them they screwed up)..

last week i spoke with a guy who's phone was stuck in car kit mode. when i asked if he had any water damage he said no, but then he told me that he was at the beach and his phone was in his pocket and sand had gotten in there......but wait theres more....he said he got home and when he took the phone out of his pocket and opened the flip sand came out.....it gets better......he then told me that he took the phone apart and cleaned the phone with rubbing alcohol 😲 👀 .....After that story he wanted to know if I would replace the phone and got pissed when i told him he voided the manufacturers warranty.....i love customers

On the plus side, retail for a razr is $220 right now, not $400. 🙄
