Water Mark

I keep seeing posts about a "water mark" spot on phones that turn red. Where exactly is this located? (I have a LG VX8100).

Depends on which phone it is as to where the stickers are. LG's have them on the bottom of the battery, but it varies as to what they look like (some were black and turned purple, some were pink with darker pink checks that I think just turn all dark pink, and now we're seeing white with red checks that turn pink). Some LG's also had the stickers underneath the battery as well. Don't really remember what the case is on the 8100. Motorola's have white stickers that turn bright red when wet.

the 8100's i believe have a dot on the bottom of the battery, as well as a dot between the battery contacts on the case under the battery.

I think you are right. The one on the phone is white with red checks. Basically the two water indicators almost touch each other...

exactly. some of the older phones sometimes only have them on the battery (like the 3300, 6100). They make good habit of putting them on FRUs now. I always love when the one on the battery is missing, i dont play that crap anymore.. when i see it missing i ask if they have insurance.

I have the 8910. Mine has 2 water marks: a solid white one on the handset and a white one with purple X's on the battery. What colors would they turn if they get wet?

The white one would turn red, and the one with purple X's would probably just bleed purple onto the white space.
