Indoor reception

Hi all --
I just bought a prepaid Kyocera kx414. I went with VZW b/c of the coverage area, but now I wonder if I shouldn't go with another carrier. The indoor reception in many buildings is pretty poor. One or zero bars is common. Is anybody else noticing this? Should I stick with VZW?
Thanks in advance

Inside of the building(s) you want service in, ask people who are there what service they use and if they get any better of a signal. That's your answer... on this message board you'll just get answers from people who really don't know what you truly need.

I agree on that, people just need to find the service that works best for them. For most people, that's Verizon 😁

No information like what area you are in leaving us wondering how far from towers you are, what frequency is running in that area, what phone do you have,.......You simply are not giving us anything to go on. Contrary to popular belief 1 bar of signal is just fine for making calls on. I have done it from time to time from my doctor's office since I don't get a very good signal there since it is near a hospital(others I have talked to while waiting in the office cannot get a signal at all).

Sorry about the lack of information!
I live in a small suburb in Utah, close to a major highway, smack in the middle of VZW's 1x service area. As I said before, the phone is a kyocera kx414. It's a trimode phone, but that doesn't matter right now because I've been in 1x coverage since I bought it.
I guess you're right about the 1 bar -- I get some decent calls on it. The 0 bars is what bothers me. I've been dropped once so far with 0 bars on the phone.

The best thing to do would be to call customer service for prepaid for your region. The only number I have at this time is 1-866-837-3387. It should ask you to put in your prepaid number to route you to the correct customer service call center to assist you further. See if your phone is updated with the latest PRL(Preferred Roaming List) if those are what prepaid uses like post pay does. Believe it or not I have actually had that improve reception even in buildings. Admittedly I don't know alot about the prepaid side of things, I am CS for post pay.
Hope this helps.

I don't know that you'd find coverage better with any other carrier, but you could look into getting something on your own to improve your indoor coverage. There are a number of companies that provide this type of thing, including Spotwave Wireless (www.spotwave.com).
Also, check out www.deadcellzones.com. It will let you report dead cell zones in or outside of your building, as well as let you see where other dead zones lie.
