Taking a job with Verizion

I'm considering taking a sales job with Verizon at one of their retail stores. Does anyone know what Verizon's pay scale is like? I am offered a base with an idea of commission but it keeps being talked up that with commission, the sky is the limit.

I'm in debate because I am also being considered a job with T-Mobile.

Well,

VZW takes care of our own. I'm not sure what its like on the retail side bt you will want to look at benefits as well as pay.

I myself chose VZW and am very pleased with everything. It makes a difference when you work for a company you believe in. 😁

we are 60/40 meaning are salary is 40 and are commis. is 60, depending on what market your at your back is 1242.87 and after that the sky is the limit
for ex. my salary is 25790.95
and my commis is 1342.75 (i'm a sr. rep)so my base is around 41,000 yearly
with all the overtime i have worked this year my salary plus ot is at 22,0225.65 and my commis. is at 37,578 year to data
so my year to date is a little over 59,000
you have to look at what store you will be at also, if your at a busy cir. city or BJ's then you will be fine.
Besides the money the benefits are great i go to school for free and when my wife had my son everything was paid for excpt. the hosiptal t.v. bill which 10.50
hope this helps

JJ, take what moemoe said seriously.

TMO is not a bad company, just not one of the big dogs...

Big dogs usually pay better. I'm in a similar boat money wise as moemoe.

BTW, it's spelled Verizon...

Good Luck!

I worked at Verizon for a year and loved it. The benefits are good and the company itself is good to you. There aren't many companies out there these days that you believe in, but Verizon is one of them. The tuition benefits are great and usually the people you work with are more than willing to help out when it comes to shift swaps or anything else.

I think you'll find the salary is pretty competitive. When I started with the company, I was pleasantly surprised to find my starting salary was higher than I figured it would be.

Overall, I'd say you'd be very pleased working for Verizon. I'd still be there if Verizon was in the healthcare field too, but sadly, I left to finish my degree in Nursing.

Do you guys know how much they offer for tuition reimbursement? Like what they give you per semester. Also, are there any other benefits, like free service, or do employees pay for their phone service like regular customers?

Tuition: $4,000 for part-time, $8,000 full-time per year. We do have to pay for our plans and our phones, but the pricing is very low. If you don't use the phone very much to talk to non-VZW people (like me) but you love to text $5 gives you 200mins, free VZW to VZW and UNLIMITED Text/Pix/Flix to ANYONE. And anything higher really isn't a huge jump. Phones, depends on what phone. For a while, they were offering a950s and lg 8100 for $50. Pretty good phones for the price.

So I finally got my interview with VZW in two days...mainly interested in the tuition reimbursement aspect of it. Could any VZW employees please tell me how long it takes for that benefit to kick in? Is it immediate, or do you have to be with the company for a certain amount of time? Can't wait!! TIA
