I know this isn't a VZW related question, but you guys are so damn knowledgeable I figured I'd ask it in here...

My mom has AT&T TDMA wireless service and her contract is almost up, she keeps complaining that she is paying to much for service, do you think she should go with AT&T or Cingular?

I am aware that Cingular and AT&T are merging, but what would be the better choice?

She doesn't like VZW, I don't why, she just doesn't.

Since there is a roaming agreement between the carriers you'll notice practically the same coverage (provided you get a handset that handles both 800 and 1900 Mhz). From there on, just go for the one that has the better deal.

I was in the nearly same dilemma as your mom. ATT,TDMA no contract, marginl service in my home with no hope of it getting better. After researching all the lnational carriers I chose Cingular.

I chose Cingular because they had less expensive phones albeit the same ones. Roll Over ( I know thats not a big deal in actual use, but the 'idea' of actually getting to use ALL the minutes paid for sits well with me). ATT was going to be Cingular anyway, I might avoid some of the 'growing pains' as well.
