EV-DO question ...

I have a question. I am a new customer for Verizon and was told when I activated that V-Cast would be available soon where I live. Will I need to do anything to receive the V-Cast coverage or will my handset automatically see that the signal is available? My phone is V-Cast capable.

your phone will pick up the evdo signal automatically. however to access vcast you will need to add the feature.

Hey, maybe I can help.

Yes. Once EV-DO becomes available you will know just by looking at the main display on your phone. Depending on what version of the Verizon User Interface you have, it will either say EV or will have EV followed by 1-4 bars of signal.

Once you see that your phone is recieving EV-DO, you will have to call Verizon customer service at 611 to have them activate V-CAST.
As far as I know you cant activate the V-CAST function from the phone or the internet. Once V-CAST is activated, your phone will begine to download drivers and the software needed to run the V-CAST service.

Hope that helps.
