Ya i am. I'm planning on getting to best buy around 8am thursday morning. Thats a 24hour wait! Hopefully that will be enough. I've never actually "camped out" like this before so what the hell, it will be an experience.

I waited in line at target for 8 hours to get an xbox, drove about an hour to some small town, figeuered less crowd there. Problem was they only had 12 and I was 14 in line(found that out at 6am) Ran to best buy and of course they were out. I got lucky because someone cancelled their preorder at gamestop because they picked one up the night before(dumbass should have sold it on ebay) So I got one the next morning. I almost sold mine on ebay, they were going for over $1000 bucks for the core system, but i wanted it so i kept it.

ah sounds crazy. yah i'm hoping to get their early enough so i am guarenteed one. at least 3rd or 4th in line will do.

Good luck. I hope you get it, but what I would do if I were you is to wait a little bit perhaps a month or so and let all the bugs take place. Remember the problem with the xbox360 within the first 30 days or so? It might happen with this system especially since it usually does with many electronic devices.

the first thing that will happen if you hook your ps3 to interent is download a patch. They already have one for the release.

Oh, I know, but I am saying most of these devices have bags and even with patches, it sometimes doesn’t help. Oh well I will probably get it regardless and if I don’t like it then so be it.

I had a friend that pissed, his xbox360 broke first day of use, good news is microsoft had him a new one in 72 hours.

I wouldn't necessarily agree with that for 2 reasons:

1. Blu-Ray... if the PS3 works (Big if...) not only are you getting a good game console but your are also getting BR player for 5-6 hundred less than the current BR players.

2. The Cell-Processor is more powerful than the 360 and with the addition of BR and its 50 gb storage capacity, its going to give developers much more options when it comes to game design.

I have a 360 and I have GOW and I have a number of other games (PGR3, Kameo, GOW, LOTR, COD2 & 3) and I really don't see "Next Gen" unless I play COD2 or 3 and GOW. Whereas everything I've seen for the PS3 has looked amazing.

And just an fyi... I'm way too old to be a fanboy.

🤨 still not worth money? I was just reading stuff on it, did you know the blueray only works through hdmi output to get 1080p and it is not included, you have to buy the hdmi cable seperate for that! So YOu are 700 for system, 60 for game, $50 for extra controller, probably $50 for hdmi cable for blueray. you are know at 860! I just have better things to spend my money on, I am a huge gamer, but i have to draw a line, i will be content with GOW, COD3, and Vegas until unreal and halo3 come out and keep a whole hell of a lot of $ in my wallet. If I didn't already have an xbox 360 i might consider it, but 860 to have both seems crazy. ummm... 500 for a core system, 55 for a Belkin AVPURE Gold HDMI is 555 b/f taxes in my book. Thats still 400 less than a regular Blu-Ray Player.

Thats a bargain in my book any day of the week.

And it plays some pretty good games AND I have a 1080P dlp with a denon/bw 7.1 surround sound system.

But I would still suggest that everybody take a wait and see. Especially considering that I think LOTR is only going to HD-DVD and I think that could actually make or break HD-DVD and blu-ray.

Yes if you want blueray, my point is i could care less and will be forced to pay high dollar when i just want to play games on it. I like microsoft's approach better where you can buy a add on drive if you want hd dvd support. And plus if you get core, yeah you maybe 550 to get system and blueray going, but you probably still want another controller and at leaste one game? so that just put you back up to over $700 after taxes. If you want blueray great, but i for one will waite until next christmas after we find out if hd dvd or blueray becomes the norm and the players are $70 at walmart. Just seems to pricey to the normal public, they are really cutting out a lot of consumers by going so high end on it. I already know a few of my friends ha...

The one thing I will say is you definately need a good tv for the PS3.

Too bad you fellas aren't out here in Hawaii. I was walking through the mezzanine here in Honolulu and I saw a PS3 box in this one little electronics store towards hotel row. I stopped in and this little asian guy has 7 PS3's for sale... 900 a piece and they are American SKU's, not Japanese.

I'm not really a gamer although I do play from time to time and I do have an XBL account -- Chromehounds and GOW primarily. I was surprised I beat GOW on hardcore in the first go. I used to play alot of Mech Commander/Mech Warrior/Battletech online.

On a side note, it was my team that helped conquer Morskoj last week in CH.

If I was in Hawaii, I wouldn’t need one of those devices I would be at the beach every day. Now, it is all rain and cold and even though I live on the beach, it is too cold to sit out there.

I have an old treo 650. Its actually proven to be my most dependable phone ever. I have a SD Card for it which I use to store movies and mp3's. I have 3 one gig cards that have my music and a couple of movies. Like this trip out I brought with me Old School, AVP, Over the Hedge, Wolf Creek, Whatever Happened to Sweet Mary Jane and then I was able to compress all of season 2.5 of BSG onto one memory card. I have also bought for this 3 lion batterys so I always juice.

that is what i am thinking, seems silly to have a 360 and a ps3, especially at that price. There maybe shortages at launch but I don't think it will be hard to find one for christmas.

Hardcore gamers will pay it out, I am just thinking about christmas when 10-16 year old says mom I want a ps3 for christmas and parents drop a load when they see the price tag! I think the nintendo may out sell it this christmas and xbox has a strong game line up this year. We will see, but man that's a lot of $. I know you get the blueray and online should be much improved, but still, $600 bucks for system and one controller is a little crazy!

That is alot of money to spend on leisure activity. I don't know I like xbox and There's one thing thing that will keep me with microsoft HALO i love Sony don't get me wrong but no HALO no ps3.

well if they had file transfer you could transfer pix/flix/mp3's to ps3's hardrive, but verizon does not support it and it looks like ps3 is limiting bluetooth as well so it will not work with full bluetooth phones either.
