You can't use the 700W as a modem to connect to your laptop for internet access. 6700 I'm not sure. 700P you can and it's only $15.00 extra a month if you have a data plan.

I like the 6700...i havent heard of many technical issues with it, like i have with the Treo's. But then again a lot of that has to do with the fact that there are many more people with the Treo...Only negatives I have heard of are the low earpiece volume and the inability to clearly see the screen in sunlight. I love it personally, though I don't own either I would probably give the 6700 most of my attention. There's an upgrade to the 6700 making it's way out shortly too.

If you don't need the camera, the blackberry 8703e is an awesome device.

I am a power user and have been using the 700W since
June. I have had NO ISSUES with my device. All you really need to do is manage your memory well. I highly
recommend SPB Pocket Plus. This goes for all Windows
Mobile Devices. My 700W is a joy! It is the perfect size
considering ALL it can do. I have a 2gig card in it and
manage my work documents, videos, pictures and
movies. Well that's my little tip. Good Luck!
