Price Competetiveness

I understand that VZW is the best coverage in the United States and the phones that we sell are starting to match up with other carrier's, but where I see VZW lagging behind is price plans. I agree that people will pay a bit more for the best, but I am starting to see other carriers really pump up thier offers and plans. For instance VZW big promotion is In-Network calling. Well every other carrier offers thier version of this for free with maybe some more or less restrictions.

Does anyone think that VZW will still continue to rely on having the best network? Or will they eventually have to become more competitive with price plans?

I dunno, but if you're out of contract with AT&T wireless, call in, you'll probably get almost double if not more of your anytime minutes for renewal with no cost.

wel depends on rate plans and such.
but they have crazy renewal promos right not for out of contract people.

eventually they must follow the downward price trend. People are only willing to pay more for the best to a certain extent. When the price differences become too great, or the networks begin to rival one another (within a few percentages in service quality) then they must become more competitive so that they can keep up. If not, those 1 million + yearly adds will begin to decline as people search for a better value.

I agree on this too, I wish they would offer a bit more, but I guess they might be waiting for the ATT/Cingular mistake, I mean merger to wake up and notice the competion out there.

Umm... think for a second. Why would they offer rate plans that would drop their ARPU when they are already adding on more activations than any other company out there and have the least amount of churn?

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
