The Librarian of Congress, on the recommendation of the Register of Copyrights, has announced the classes of works subject to the exemption from the prohibition against circumvention of technological measures that control access to copyrighted works. Persons making noninfringing uses of the following six classes of works will not be subject to the prohibition against circumventing access controls (17 U.S.C. § 1201(a)(1)) during the next three years...

Looks to me to concern locking to a particular network. I don't pretend to be a lwayer, but I can read. Nothing about UI or OBEX transfer or anything else.

Dude, for the last time, I did read the article. I also read (and posted) the relevent section of the ruling. It concerns reusing handsets on different networks. No matter what any article from any business magazine says (even tough it concurs with the ruling), the actual ruling determines what it's about.

Don't know who you are, and really don't care. I've seen your website, and apparently you believe this is your ruling. If in fact it is, good for you, but just repeating the same line in several posts over and over doesn't make it correct.

After all the smoke has cleared, I don't think it'll make too terribly much differece.Cell phone technology dates itself so quickly, what's true today will be obsolete in 3 yeras anyway.
