Combined vibe & ring setting?
I'm about to hit my New Every 2 and looking to upgrade. I currently have a Motorola v265, and while I'm looking at the v325, I was told by the VZW in-store folks that the phone does not have a combined "vibe & ring" ringer setting where the phone will vibrate a few times and then audibly ring.
It's kind of important for me, since I'm frequently in settings where I can feel the phone but can't hear it and vice versa, where I can hear the phone but can't feel it or have taken it out of my pocket. Does anyone know if it's true that the v325 doesn't have that setting?
Also, the CSR told me she didn't think ANY Verizon phones did that anymore -- is it true that VZW has killed the "vibe & ring" ringer option across its entire line?

On the Verizon UI, you need to do a seem edit to get back that OEM feature. The seem edit for vibe THEN ring has been discovered, while the edit for vibe AND ring has not.

Thanks... now to attempt to find a friend who will let me use their Windows machine so I can hack this thing -- one of the few downfalls of having a Mac! 🙂

You can buy the unlocking software from ebay the software makes it real easy,and if you want to do file tranfers such as phone tools,wallpaper,and ringtones this software will do it.

I will check tomorrow, but I believe the V325 is one of the last that actually still does the vibe then ring format. All the others will only vibe or ring or vibe and ring at the same time.

I'm fine with either vibe-then-ring or vibe-and-ring. I just want to make sure there's a setting where either can be chosen -- as I understand it, you can set it vibrate, or you can set to ring, but there's no combination of both.

It's not true about no phones doing it anymore. All the others will Ring and Vibrate as far as I know. It's always been our Motorola phones that won't do the both at the same time. I believe that is even starting to change though. The KRZR has the option to turn on Vibrate under the ringer menu just like all the other phones. So it appears it will do both at the same time.
