V60 in Mercedes

My mom just informed me that she purchased a new Mercedes with the integrated cell phone package...

Now she has to choose between staying with AT&T (her contract is up) or going with VZW.

Questions...
Does anybody know if she has to go with a V60 or can she choose a different phone?

Also, how does it affect her plan?

And if she decides to go with VZW how does the account set-up work?

1) If she wants to use the equipment/software in the car for hands-free use, the phone will depend on what kind of equipment was installed in the mercedes. There should be a book on it and what phones are compatible to use with the mercedes.

2) It won't affect her plan at all. She can go...

If she is using ATTWS now, it sounds like the integrated equipment is either TDMA or GSM, in which case the new service would have to be as well. If this is the case, the only way for her to go Verizon would be to have new equipment installed in the Mercedes.

Since you say its a NEW Mercedes, I'm banking on GSM. If that's the case, she can stay put, keep her existing coverage, and decide what plans she likes once Cingular and ATTWS combine in the very near future.

I think you misunderstood me, she didn't have the package installed, its coming from the factory installed and it comes with a V60i.

Her contract is up so she can either have her service switched to the V60i in the Mercedes, or sign up for new service through VZW which will also go to the V60i in the Mercedes, she has to decide, because they have to send her the compatible phone (VZW or AT&T).

And the only options for cell service are either VZW or AT&T.

Here's a link to the system...

But, when I checked out a Mercedes forum, it said that they will be coming out for cradles and software to support the V710.

I'm so confused, can anybody help me with this? ...

"Your Mercedes-Benz dealer offers a selection of the latest Motorola mobile phones for most major carriers."

Straight from the link...

Yeah, but from what I've found they are about as knowledgeable as asking a VZW CSR when the V810 is coming out.

Not offense intended. 🙂

I haven't taken the "fortelling the future" training yet. I don't know any reps who have taken this training class.
Customer service is horrible for VZW mainly because they don't know the future, I'm so dissapointed. Based on all of phonepimps posts, Cingular seems like they heavily implement this future fortelling training.
