Same thing is happening with my brand new waterproof turd, the phone crashes when sending text messages. My 8300 did this had it replace three time now this phone freezes on me. I'm really getting fed up with running to the verizon store to have my phones replace!! I paid 419 bucks for the phone now I have to get a FRU!!!!!!!!! only to hope it works. many of friends who dont have verizon dont go through this crap they buy a phone and it works!! 👿

i really dont know what to do some of my friends with cingular and sprint phones are two or more years old and still work perfect.
And I a waterproof phone that wont stop crashing on me 👿

Hey Joker,

Has Tech support looked at your account for this problem or is customer service just doing the exchanges without checking with them?

Also, does it crash just only when texting?

Sounds like to me that there is something wrong when the new phone gets programmed on your number and goes into the switch. Tech Support may need to rebuild the text messaging feature on the phone. You should call and see if Customer Care can't help you out instead of the store.

OK thanks= it just does it when texting and I take it to the store and show the tech guy, i send a text in front of him and he watches it crash the phone and then it reboots and the text doesn't go through...he scratches his head then goes into the cabinet for a damn FRU which just kills me cuz i paid so much for the phone and want it NEW.

i will take your advice and see if customer care can do something ☹️

thanks

The really bad part of all this, is that Verizon is the only carrier that has this phone. It's why I hope they don't have it on exclusive contract!

Good...I am glad that you are going to call care and see if the tech support there will do anything.

IF they FRU This one then it would almost have to be new as its so new that they wouldn't have enough time to build up refurbs. You probably wouldn't get the same phone probably another 8300 in fact..

Let me know of the results of your call.

Thanks..

I work for an indirect for Verizon and that is what we would do for him here in my store as a Corp store is 2 hours away.

I had to have tech support rebuild my text messaging. I was only getting text messages if they were sent Priority, other wise, i didnt get them.

Took a while for someone to realize what was going on, but when you talk to tech support, they really know there stuff. Customer service can only do so much.

customer service isnt trained as well as tech support on the techinical issues, and they also dont have access to all the tools tech support has. this limits what they can do.

this is why there is a tech support tho, if customer care could do it all there wouldnt be a need for tech support.
