I opened a new customer account on 11/20, due to reception not good where I live, I ported my number back out to Cingular. I still got charged $175 ETF. I called CS to ask why, they told me I also have to return the equipment I bought when I opened service. BUT, I cut out the UPC label from the box to send in the rebate. Now they say I have to pay the ETF because the product is non returnable since I cut the box or reactivate the account//sorry

Well, if you signed the rebate form it says right below it that by removing the UPC it will void your ability to return the phone for a refund. If you buy a tent from a sporting goods store and cut out the UPC do you think they will let you return it?
