Umm... I've actually been to the call centers before and I didn't have to fly outside of the US and in fact I didn't even have to leave my state to visit one.

BS. I call customer care a dozen times a day (as an indirect). I may get someone that I can tell is a noob, but getting someone that I am unable to understand is rare.

Ok I wasn't going to post, but sprint74, that was a crazy comment! Number one, they do not outsource to other countries, and Sprint is very well known for being EXtremely outsourced, they close down their own corporate centers to outsource! So, your point?? You must have been calling someone else, are you just confused?!!?

I am astounded, I have ALWAYS had a great experience with Verizon customer service, never have i been outsourced... On the other hand I worked at Sprint and their customer service was incredibly bad. Whenever I had to call them, if someone couldn't speak english clearly I'd hang up and call back. Sometimes I'd have to do that 6 times.

By the way, when it comes to customer service you gotta play the game, if you want to be treated well, start by treating them well, it's amazing how that works.

true so very true! But let me add that just because someone doesn't speak English well that they are in another country. I hate that. ANd if you ever heard of EEO then you will know you can't discriminate against race, religion, ethnicity. If you can understand them and they are the best quailified for the position then unless you want a lawsuit you have to hire them.

Wouldn't knowledge of the main language of the area where calls would be coming from be a requirement? I mean, I wouldn't expect to be hired for a call center that would be taking calls primarily from Mexico...(I wouldn't even put in for that job)

But yes, I get tired of calling companies like Dell and get some guy that the only word you can understand is when he says his name is Dave or John or Mike...Outsourcing may "save" some money on that call, but when that customer won't buy another product, and do what I am doing by telling others not to buy their product, due to this. They aren't really "saving" money...
