VERIZON vs VERIZON WIRELESS (PROFITS ARE DOWN RANT)

There was a rant in which somebody kept on saying how Wall Street numbers are down for Verizon - hence they are going down in flames .......

Many people confuze Verizon and Verizon Wireless as the same company.

Do people realize that Verizon Wireless is a privately held company owned by Verizon Communications and Vodafone ??

Verizon Wireless profits are skyhigh -- We made more money per customer and spent less per customer this past quarter ... VZW's churn is always the lowest and yes I also understand that there are no Free calls between 7p - 9p and that you don't have those 5 special people you can call that are not in the same carrier ----

If you look at the big picture -- when there are 57 million customers (give or take) com...

Since there are about 300 million people in the US and Verizon has 57 million customers, more than 1 out of 6 people in the country have Verizon. The 300 million person count is including children too though so it's an even higher ratio...

First of all 43 % of all statistics are made up on the spot.

Also, every company is involved in some sort of charity work, so saying a company is a good company because of that isn't a very good argument. The argument has never been whether they are a bad company because they aren't chaitable, its because of how they have forced a standardized UI on their phones, and their plans aren't all that economical, lets face it they are really meant for families who only call eachother.

So to use that logic path, is just plain misguided. Don't justify one action with an unrelated one.

No, its something my stats professor told us, so unless it comes from a source, don't believe it when someone says "60% of blah blah blah..."

Well I don't usually believe everything I hear, but the guy got his undergrad from Georgetown, his Masters from The University of Texas, and his PhD. from Florida, but the point was that "you're" quantifying something you may not be able to quantify lol. "43% of stats are made up on the spot..." Its kind of like a stats joke really because how would you be able to measure that, and its also to make fun of people that haven't studied an event to actually come up with the proper statistic for it.

As a fellow employee, I must say that I appreciate the facts you said about compensation package as well as the fact that we open up more jobs over here, not ship them overseas. I feel that we do business the right way.
