Dear XXXXX,

Does your cell phone take pictures, play music, and download market reports from the Internet - yet, you can't get it to complete a phone call?

And then, you can't get out of the plan because they lock you in with high early-termination fees - $150 to $200.

Join our "Hear Us Now!" campaign. Tell the cell phone industry to end the "gotchas" and improve the quality of your phone service.

Companies use high termination fees to keep you from taking your business elsewhere because many services will regularly drop your calls, no matter what their ads say. And you can expect to pay up to 30 percent more than the advertised price.

Consumer Reports this month provides some good tips for finding a better phone and a bette...

I've probably had 5 'dropped' calls in my 6 years with Verizon... perhaps these service issues apply to other carriers?

...and if you don't like 2 years service contract go get a prepay phone, that's why they exist...

I love it when people complaint and say its not fair when they get huge bills, when they're the one who signed up for the contract... take some personal responsibility.

Yeah me with sprint for 6 yrs and dropped a handful. Guess it applies to the others besides sprint and verizon. And yup don't like a contract go prepay. Or hell boycott the wireless company all together. I think I get a good deal myself but everyone wants something for free or dirt cheap. They think the employees, networks, hardware, ect are free I guess! When cell phones start posting absurd high net profits like oil companies then I will agree their is a problem!

yeah theres a great idea no contract, let us pay $320 for a chocolate or $420 for a moto Q 🙄 The thing people don't understand about contracts is the phone discouting. The Q is 420 ful retail. Buy it with a plan+data you get it for 200 with 100 mail in reabte making it $99! 420-99=320 in savings with contract. So I would rather save 320 and cancel at a fee of 175 than buy the phone at 420 and not have a cancellation fee. I think companies should give a no contract option, but many want the contract so they can afford the equipment.

I sometimes wish they did do away with them so when customers decline insurance on their 12 year old's razr that don't flip when i tell them the phone is $270 no contract to replace it a month later when they loose it. I think it would give customers a shocking, but smetimes needed idea of what their equipment is really worth.

How about insurance is required/included on all lines instead? Of course rate plans would go up by $5 but still....

I would just like a no contract option. So you could say $100 on two year contract, $150 on one year contract, or $300 if you want to go no contract. Something like that, then you would add the value into the phones and give people the option to skip contracts, this wouold also help customers who want to buy a phone on ebay, or activate a old phone one of their friends or family had without signing a contract

and their giving away phones on secondary 9.99 lines. That really devalues a phone when you are collecting less on 2 yrs worth of revenue then what you say the "full retail" value of the phone. i.e. you say a phone retails at 250 but you can get it for free with a bogo offer.

So that would stop the, "I want to add another 9.99 line to my account. Now what video/bluetooth/camera/music player/etc phones are you offering for free with that?"

Mine froze up a few times a day and I had to go into its memory and manually shut down programs that I had used, and if I used windows media, and shut it down, every minute it would pop up unless I manually shut it down...just had a bad experience with it...and I was lied to when I tried to get it fixed.

Aside from no service in your house if Verizon checks out your home area outside of buildings to be a marginal coverage area they let you out of your contract with no ETF.

If people really want this they should be prepared to pay the FULL retail price on all phones to have no contract. No more free phones and usually the cheapest being a no frills phone around $129-149. If you want prorated ETF's write your congressman, some states have this as a law. Hence why T-mob got hit because their contracts did not mention this.

For no confusing bills? I don't think that is possible as 1 person that gets it, 200 other won't understand it in the same format. You can put legends, weblinks on how to read the bill, a seminar, etc and people will ...

LOL. Right about that. VZW bills are about as simple as can be. Ever seen a Nextel bill??? HOLY COW! The bill clearly says peak...used...you had...overage...rate of...overage amount. Can't be much more easy then that!
