well that is a very broad question but in general i'd recommend a 700p because its a good phone and it can do a lot of stuff. i am personally planning on buying it. But if all you need is email, get the blackberry because its cheaper.

I have been a Blackberry guy for years, albeit not with VZW. My son had and quickly got rid of both the Treo 700W and then the 700P.
The big downsides that I saw to the Treo was battery life, especially if you had it check mail more than once an hour, and frequent crashes.
The only downside that I have seen with Blackberry, and this only applies to people who use this as a sole device, is that if you don't use a headset/bt device, ergonomically it is like holding a shoe box next to your head.
Many business people like myself carry two devices for this, among other reasons. Personally I carry an LG phone with VZW service and my Blackberry is with t-Mobile.
