VZW + 1
Are there any midwest/west VZW authorized agents with information concerning VZW + 1. There are rumors hitting the east coast (where we are exclusive to VZW) that they opened up your sales channel, so you can sell another carrier and VZW, where we can not.

I'm not sure I understand your question... I am in the West area, and we sell Verizon along with two other carriers. However, we are considered VZW +1 because Verizon deals with our master agent directly and not us, and since we only have T-Mobile and Verizon through the master agent we are +1.

In the mid-atlantic territory, there are no master agents only direct agents. We can only sell VZW out of our retail stores. We have been hearing rumors that VZW started VZW+1 in the west and might open that up to the direct agents here. It would be helpful, during these tough times.

I am not an expert on this, because I never see our contract that we have with Verizon - but hopefully this helps a little. In the Midwest they do have the Exclusive + 1 available to indirect dealers, so that they can sell one other carrier. I do know that they either do not give co-op money for advertising or cut it back a lot. I also know that equipment is cheaper if you are exclusive instead of exclusive + 1. Not a lot cheaper, but a few dollars per phone. We have decided to stick with just Verizon for now, but if another good carrier comes around we may consider becoming Excl +1.
