copying MP3 to SCH-A930 w/o WMP 10

Is there a way to copy MP3 files to my SamSung SCH-A930 phone without Windows Media Player 10 and play it?

I have a memory card reader/writer so I figured I could just copy MP3 files directly to the microSD memory card then pop it into the phone, but my phone doesn't see the MP3 files and I can't play any of it. Manual says I have to use WMP 10 and use the synchronize feature to transfer the music... Is that the only way? I am using Windows 2000 and it only support upto WMP 9 so I don't have access to WMP 10.

If copying the MP3 files to a directory should work, what directory name should MP3 files go into? I tried "MY MUSIC", "MY SOUND". I copied some of the MIDI files to one of the directories and the phone knows about the MIDI fi...

My a950 only plays .wma files. They say you have to use WMP to transfer your mp3s to your phone because it converts the files to .wma while it does it. Just convert your files yourself to .wma and drag them onto the card yourself.

Ah... that's what it was... The phone can actually play WMA files, not MP3 files... I just tried that and works! Thanks!
